Trader Joe's Swordfish Steaks are sustainably fished from the cold Atlantic waters off the coast of Spain. The cold temperatures of the water cause the fish to build up more robust stores of fat than you'll find in swordfish caught in warmer climes, and those fat stores translate into healthy amounts of beneficial Omega-3's for you when you enjoy the steaks. The fish are cleaned and frozen on the fishing vessel, within six hours of being caught, so their freshness is sealed in.
