We toyed with simply calling these treats Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting, because we were concerned the "Gluten Free" would limit their audience to those who actively avoid gluten. Frankly, these just taste like delicious cupcakes to us, so calling out what they don't have wasn't our first instinct. However… we really wanted to make sure that our gluten free friends knew we had cupcakes they could really enjoy, so in the end we went with Gluten Free Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting.
Trader Joe's Gluten Free Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting are moist, chocolatey cakes, made just for us without wheat flour or any other gluten-containing ingredients. Their delicate crumb tastes exactly as a cupcake should, with none of the scratchy, sawdust-y aftertaste that's made gluten free baked goods infamous. Our Gluten Free Cupcakes are delivered in packages of four, so they're easy to share (of course, we don't insist that you share, we simply make it convenient to so should you choose to do so). In the spirit of Valentine's Day, we've frosted them pink, so they even make good gifts - your sweetie will love these sweets!
