February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.
VINTJS is a wine label you'll find only at your neighborhood Trader Joe's. We save this label for wine opportunities that represent both outstanding value and excellent regional/varietal characteristics. VINTJS Chardonnay Arroyo Seco 2012 fits right in as a great value and outstanding exemplification of Chardonnay from the Arroyo Seco AVA.
A small AVA (American Viticultural Area) within the larger Monterey County AVA, Arroyo Seco's climate is cooled by Pacific breezes, and its soil is on the gravelly side, creating ideal growing conditions for Chardonnay (and other varietals like Rielsing and Pinot Noir). Arroyo Seco's Chardonnays tend to be crisp and fruity, and VINTJS Chardonnay Arroyo Seco 2012 lives up to that expectation. With stone fruit, apple, melon, and honey on the nose, subtle oak on the palate, and a crisp, creamy finish, the wine presents a perfect balance of crispness, creaminess, and fruitiness. It's an easy drinking wine that's equally enjoyable with hors d'oeuvres, with dinner, or with a good book in front of the fireplace. It's also easy on your wallet, at only $7.99* for each 750ml bottle. Like all the wines in our VINTJS label, though, it's only available in limited quantities, and when it's gone, it's gone.
* VINTJs Chardonnay Arroyo Seco is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold. It is $7.99 (plus tax) unless otherwise noted here: ME, SC, KY, FL, VA, NY, DC, GA, NM, NH: $8.99. Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff. (If we could, we would.)
