Here’s a wine that’s balanced, full-flavored, with good acidity and a soupçon of smooth vanilla-oak on the palate. Trader Joe’s Grower’s Reserve California Merlot is crafted using 100% organically grown Merlot grapes from some of California’s best Merlot-growing regions. This is an excellent summertime red, with plenty of flavor to match your hot-weather fare, but without the heavier, more tannin-centric flavors you might choose to serve in colder weather, or with heartier foods.
TJ’s Grower’s Reserve California Merlot is a natural partner to Carne Asada and is quite complementary to Fresh Figs and Manchego. And it’s a perfect partner for a penny-pincher – at $4.99 a bottle, this is one of our favorite values of the summer.
TJ’s Grower’s Reserve California Merlot is currently available in Trader Joe’s stores where wine is sold in the following regions (it is $4.99, unless otherwise noted): AZ, CA, DC, FL: $5.99, GA: $5.99, IA, IL, IN, KY: $5.99, MA, MI, MO, NC, NE, NH: $6.99, NJ, NM, NV, OH: $6.49, OR, SC, TX: $5.99, WA, WI & VA. Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff. (If we could, we would.)
