Fearless Flyer

A cross between Consumer Reports and Mad Magazine, The Fearless Flyer is kind of like a newsletter, a catalog and a bit of a comic book all at the same time. It's our chance to give you loads of interesting (hopefully) information about our products. And along the way, we like to toss in some witty (we try) tidbits and even a few old-fashioned cartoons.

Did You Know?

  • Trader Joe's first newletter "The Insider Report" was introduced in 1970. In it we told stories about wines we sold. Customers ponied up 5 cents to read it.
  • In 1985, the Insider Report was changed to The Fearless Flyer. Our storytelling expanded and our pricing became downright bold- it was free. It still is. And worth every penny.
  • In 2012, The Fearless Flyer flew into the digital age with an online version that is easy to read, easy to share and features extras like product photos and recipes. You can even make a customized shopping list right here.
